What Customers Say About Sonic Rivals:

Bought this as a gift, and I was told that it is the best game that he has ever played. He just loves it.

The only character I like is Metal Sonic. And the roster is also sort of boring. That's not a big deal, though, because I don't buy video games to read them. It's fun when you start, and it's pretty cool collecting cards, but then it gets really boring and repetitive. Just something to do when you're bored. Silver, Sonic, and Shadow are fast (obviously) and Knuckles is the slowest, that's all there is to know.

I would recommend this game to (maybe) have on the go, but not to play at home or something. Sonic Rivals was one of the first games I got for my PSP. I always try to collect new cards, but I always get the same cards. The storyline is also very boring, just people chasing Eggman Nega and Eggman.

I won't play anything where I can't control the character because the system is too busy doing something else, which begs the question : It's 2d, why is it so hard to The best thing about the original Sonic on Genesis was the imagination inventing puzzles and bosses. Gone are the days of using your intellect and mastery of the controls to get through the map. Now, you hang on and I guess if its summertime and you are 10, you play over and over to learn the map thoroughly. Now, the levels are stunningly pretty, and you go fast, and the bosses suck and the control is not trustworthy.

I play it as well as my grandsons. I received this game in perfect condition. I would recommend this game to anyone

the levels have different paths you can take so as to change it up a bit, but if you press the wrong button each time, you're stuck going through the same path every time. and then you have to play the level over again. but having to play through the levels over and over again does get very boring, even if you do like running. a new one at $20 isn't worth it.

and then your opponent wins. my favorite thing about sonic games was running fast. so if you like the running aspect of sonic games and not much else, then this game is fun for a week or two. as mentioned by past reviewers, the story mode is useless, it's basically the same for every character, and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to begin with. when i saw one copy of sonic rivals at kmart, i had to buy it. not looking for emeralds, or shooting targets, but running. after you've done all the story modes you get a chance to collect cards, which in turn gets you different suits, racing cups, etc. the levels also have a lot of pitfalls, literally.

but i would recommend buying a used copy. i'm a huge sonic fan so i'll buy any game i can, provided i have the console to play it. and that's really all you get out of this game. you have to memorize where they are, otherwise you fall and you die.
